Telavi Tour

Drive to Telavi district of Kakheti region bordering the Caucasus Mountains from the north and Azerbaijan from the south. This historical valley is known as a rich viticulture part of Georgia.

There are a lot of ancient historical monuments greatly attracting the attention of tourists.

Telavi highlights included: House-museum of Al. Chavchavadze and a beautiful park in Tsinandali. Parks alleys are adorned with lime-trees, nut-trees, oak-trees, cypresses. The trees are hundred years old. There is a rose-garden in the park as well, also a wine-factory with enormous callers where wine gets old in huge barrels; Telavi castle which includes the Erecle II palace; old and new monastic complexes of Shuamta (5th-7thcc.), Alaverdi monastery (11th century)- a symbol of Georgian culture, Ikalto academy (12th c).
